Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to oversee the sourcing, evaluation, and procurement of materials and components required for furniture production. This role is critical to keeping our manufacturing operations running smoothly by ensuring high-quality materials are secured at competitive prices and inventory levels stay ahead of production needs.
Key Responsibilities- Source and request quotes from vendors for furniture components and materials
- Evaluate vendor pricing, lead times, quality, and reliability to support cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Review and assess samples with internal teams to determine the best materials for quality, durability, and production feasibility.
- Place and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with production schedules.
- Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records of stock on hand, incoming materials, and usage rates.
- Proactively forecast material needs to ensure adequate supply for upcoming and future production runs.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, negotiating pricing and terms when appropriate.
- Coordinate closely with production and operations teams to align purchasing with manufacturing timelines.
- Identify potential supply risks and develop contingency plans to prevent production delays.
- Continuously improve purchasing processes, documentation, and reporting.
- Proven experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably in furniture industry.
- Strong understanding of vendor sourcing, price comparison, and inventory management.
- Experience reviewing samples and evaluating materials for quality and production use.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to plan ahead, anticipate production needs, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
