The Maintenance Manager oversees all maintenance activities within the manufacturing facility, ensuring equipment reliability, minimal downtime, and a safe working environment. This role leads the maintenance team, manages preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and partners closely with production to support efficient, high‑quality operations across filling, sewing, cutting, quilting, and packaging lines.
Maintenance Leadership & Planning- Lead, train, and supervise maintenance technicians across all shifts.
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance schedules for production equipment
- Prioritize and assign daily work orders, ensuring timely completion and minimal disruption to production.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment histories, and spare‑parts inventory.
- Oversee maintenance of key equipment such as sewing machines, conveyors, compressors, and packaging systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or installations.
- Ensure proper calibration and safe operation of all machinery.
- Partner with production supervisors to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.
- Analyze recurring issues and implement long‑term corrective actions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, including workflow optimization and equipment upgrades.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA, NFPA, and company safety standards.
- Maintain lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and ensure team adherence.
- Support facility safety programs, inspections, and audits.
- Identify and mitigate hazards related to fiber dust, compressed air, electrical systems, and machine guarding.
- Manage maintenance budget, including parts, tools, and contractor expenses.
- Recommend capital improvements, equipment replacements, and modernization projects.
- Track KPIs such as downtime, PM completion rate, and maintenance response time.
Required
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Preferred
- Experience in textiles, bedding, foam, or soft‑goods manufacturing.
- Knowledge of sewing equipment, fiber‑fill systems, and material‑handling machinery.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or related credentials.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to fiber fill, foam, dust, noise, and moving machinery.
- Requires standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent presence on the production floor to support equipment and staff.
