Factory Operations Manager

Upholstery Manufacturing – High Point, NC

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Factory Operations Manager to lead daily operations at a ~200,000 sq. ft. upholstery manufacturing facility in North Carolina.

The factory is active, producing upholstery for commercial, hospitality, and residential clients, and is undergoing a leadership-driven turnaround. We are looking for someone who can step in, take ownership of operations, establish structure and discipline, and run the factory with consistency, accountability, and pride.

This role requires a leader who is comfortable being deeply involved on the floor, managing people directly, and owning results.

Key Responsibilities

• Full ownership of day-to-day factory operations
• Manage production flow, scheduling, labor planning, and throughput
• Oversee quality control and ensure consistent product standards
• Implement and maintain operating procedures, documentation, and reporting
• Lead, develop, and hold supervisors and production teams accountable
• Drive operational efficiency, organization, and continuous improvement
• Coordinate closely with leadership, sales, and R&D as needed
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and performance-driven work environment

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Proven experience running a manufacturing plant or factory
• Previous role as a Plant Manager, Factory Manager, or Operations Manager
• Strong people leadership with floor-level credibility
• Comfortable operating in a turnaround or rebuilding environment
• Process-oriented, organized, and execution-focused
• Decisive leadership style with clear accountability
• Upholstery, furniture, or similar manufacturing experience strongly preferred

We are looking for someone who has already carried responsibility for a factory operation and is ready to take full ownership again.
