Information Technology Operations Director

The IT Operations Director provides strategic and operational leadership across the organization’s technology function. This role oversees all core IT operations, including infrastructure, servers, networking, cybersecurity, cloud services, and end-user computing. The Director leads the IT Operations team — including the IT End User Services Manager and the Infrastructure & Server team — to ensure technology solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

Success in this role requires strong prioritization, communication, analytical thinking, project management, and people leadership in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment.

• Partner with business and functional leaders to ensure IT operations support organizational goals.
• Implement and maintain IT best practices that enhance performance, security, and competitiveness.
• Oversee cybersecurity awareness and support ongoing compliance efforts.
• Serve as primary liaison with IT vendors, office equipment providers, and telecommunications partners to ensure cost-effective, high-quality service.
• Engage with staff and managers to assess technology needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Ensure protection of company, customer, and employee confidential information.
• Maintain, test, and improve backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Oversee procurement, installation, and ongoing maintenance of IT hardware, software, and infrastructure.
• Identify infrastructure risks and opportunities to enhance security, stability, and performance.
• Develop business cases and lead IT projects from planning through implementation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop IT team members to support departmental and company objectives.
• Monitor IT spending and ensure alignment with strategic priorities.
• Perform additional IT and management duties as assigned by executive leadership.

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or equivalent professional experience.
• 5+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including infrastructure and end-user services.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 solutions.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and compliance standards.
• Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills.
• Experience with SD-WAN, virtualization, and endpoint management solutions.
• Strong understanding of technical management, information analysis, and hardware/software systems.
• Proven experience managing IT operations across servers, networks, and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach and develop a team.
• Strong communication and strategic planning skills.
• Effective project management abilities with a track record of managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Experience migrating and upgrading operating systems and applications.
• Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, copiers, and fax machines.
• Service-oriented self-starter with strong initiative.
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize and quickly adjust to shifting needs.
• Strong written communication skills for creating user documentation, policies, and processes.
• Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends.
• Ability to travel occasionally, including some overnight trips.
