Weeknights, 5 PM - 8 AM (night call coverage)

Hospital-based, 4-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Department

Description:

Community hospital unit functioning as a step-down unit. Very sick children are transferred to larger centers. No Dialysis or ECMO. Providers will supervise UNC residents rotating to the facility. Average Daily Census: 1-3 patients, can increase to 5-6 during peak times. Patient Age Group:
Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents Procedures:
Central lines Arterial lines Mechanical ventilation US-guided lines Glidescope intubation Intubation of pediatric patients Lumbar puncture (LP) CVP lines Support Staff:
Pediatric residents cover the unit. Workload:
Increase during winter months. Certification Requirements:
