Light Vehicle Mechanic

Overview

Car Mechanic/Technician role at Novara Main Car Dealership in Glossop. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who takes pride in their work and enjoys diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing vehicles to ensure they are safe, roadworthy, and performing at their best.

• Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical and electrical faults
• Diagnose issues using modern diagnostic equipment and tools
• Carry out repairs and maintenance on engines, brakes, suspension, exhaust systems, and other vehicle components
• Replace or repair faulty or worn parts efficiently and safely
• Perform routine servicing, MOT preparation, safety checks, and inspections
• Complete all job cards and records accurately and on time
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure smooth workshop operations

• Previous experience as a Car Mechanic or in a similar automotive role (preferred)
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to diagnose faults accurately
• Confident using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams
• Good attention to detail with a well-organised approach to work
• Automotive qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds) are advantageous but not essential
• A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic
