Clinical Manager

CN Guidance and Counseling Services, Inc. New York, NY Salary Range: $96,461.00 - $ Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level

Job Definition

Charged with clinical managerial and administrative responsibilities to ensure that staff meets the standards and requirements of the Agency and appropriate funding and regulatory bodies. Sign‑on bonus of $5,000 provided for full‑time employment of 6 months.

Educational Requirements
  • Master’s Degree in Social Work or Master’s in Mental Health Counseling required.
  • New York State licensure preferred:
    Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Licensed Master Social Worker, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Mental Health Counselor.
Experience Required

Five years of post‑graduate clinical work in relevant settings including some supervisory experience.

Duties And Responsibilities
  • Delivers services such as gathering sufficient information for each client to make diagnostic assessments and determine assignment priorities and treatment plans or referrals to community resources.
  • Implements appropriate crisis services when needed to prevent further decompensation.
  • Shares information about the Agency and its services to help clients and interested citizens participate in treatment decisions, set appropriate goals, and better understand the functions of the center.
  • Helps clients become effective consumers of mental health and substance use services through information sharing, empowerment, and transcendence of stigma.
  • Maintains client stability through a planned ongoing treatment relationship and assesses and helps implement changes when indicated.
  • Regularly assesses with assigned clinicians and supervises the progress of clients’ treatment, and is open to recommendations for improvement.
  • Assists clients in developing appropriate expectations from treatment and understanding the need for cooperation with fee and insurance responsibilities.
  • Strengthens the ability of clients to understand and utilize therapy and find resources after treatment through proper discharge planning and termination processes.
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate professional files demonstrating therapeutic intervention to the Agency, funding, and licensing authorities.
  • Participates in all required internal and external meetings that represent the needs of clients, staff, and the Agency.
  • Provides supervision of clinical staff and students, including guidance on diagnosis, assessment and treatment techniques and oversight of compliance with agency standards.
  • Assists in overseeing staff training needs and planning for community and agency needs with the administrative and clinical management team.
  • Supports the use of data in clinical supervision to inform decision‑making and encourages quality improvement processes.
  • Creates an inclusive culture that respects diverse strengths, views, and experiences, ensuring a safe work environment through adherence to safety protocols.
  • Other duties as assigned.
