ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set-up and maintenance and pricing processes for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest-first culture across the store
• Experience in retail business fundamentals including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

Responsibilities (Typical Day) As a General Merchandise Expert, no two days are the same, but a typical day will likely include the following responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete daily tasks
• Assist guests by engaging with them in a welcoming way to solve their needs
• Thank guests and acknowledge their choice to shop at Target
• Execute daily tasks to achieve goals aligned with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified
• Execute processes including price changes, merchandise set-up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed
• Learn how operational procedures affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to resolve issues and improve guest experience
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance
• Work safely; comply with safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible
• Support guest services such as back-up cashier and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking and packing orders or delivering pickup orders) while complying with applicable laws
• All other duties based on business needs

Additional Requirements

• Accurately handle cash register operations as needed
• Climb ladders as required
• Scan, move, and handle merchandise safely, including frequently lifting up to 44 pounds
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable attendance
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions while performing duties
• Mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift
