American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown) position in Hickory, NC, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Cerner proficiency.

• Located in the Neuro Progressive Care Unit (NPCU) on the 5th floor of a 355-bed hospital
• Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients with neurological and medical diagnoses
• Common diagnoses include stable post-stroke, stable neuro-surgery, telemetry, and general medical patients
• Specialty cases include neuro medical strokes, neuro-ortho surgeries, and overflow telemetry and medical patients
• 20-bed unit with an approximate 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• EMR:
  Cerner (required)
• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating required to Medical, Telemetry, and Neuro units
• 13-week contract

• Active NC or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required (RQI certifications are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside 60+ miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

• Part of a Duke LifePoint Health hospital system with specialty centers including a Brain Center, Cancer Center, Heart Center, and Level 3 NICU
• Candidates must not have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the past 12 months
• Candidates cannot be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• COVID vaccination card required
