Registered Nurse (RN), Cath Lab

$20,000 sign on bonus eligibility
Schedule:
Revolving 5 week track schedule;
Every 5th weekend; 30 min call requirement
The EP Lab nurse will work closely in a sterile environment with the interdisciplinary team to perform procedures and support patient care in the cardiac cath lab. With training, the EP RN will be able to remove and manage sites from arterial and venous sheaths. The team performs the following procedures in the Cath/EP Lab:
- Permanent Pacemaker Implantation, BiV ICD, BiV pacemakers and Micra pacemaker
- Ablations (Atrial fibrillation/Flutter and Cryo-Ablations)
- SVT, Ventricular tachycardia
- Loop Recorder Watchman Implantation
Requirements and performance expectations for the RN in this role include:
- Carry out an appropriate plan of care based on assessment, clinical recommendations and requirements in a team-oriented environment for cardiac procedures
- Safe medication administration and monitoring of patients who have received sedation within the procedural area
- Accurate documentation in the medical record and hospital/procedural charting systems (Cerner hospital-wide; McKesson/Change in procedural area); experience preferred but not required
- Continuously evaluate patient condition; ability to work independently and provide appropriate education based on patient circumstances, condition, cultural and spiritual needs
- Monitor and identify pacing protocols with assistance from EP physician
A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role:
- Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs
- Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions
- Provides care appropriate to the patient's condition and age
- Performs timely and accurate documentation relating to medical necessity
- Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
- Performs timely and accurate quality improvement assessments

What We Are Looking ForApplicants should have a current state RN license.
Additional RequirementsBachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and PALS required within six months of hire
- One year of experience preferred; 1-3 years with recent critical care or EP/CL experience preferred
