Intern – GPS - Continuous Improvement

You will be responsible for assisting in the design, development, implementation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will follow the Global Performance Systems (GPS) to address production, quality, safety, and maintenance requirements of the business.

• Assist in the design, development and implementation of new processes and equipment
• Propose process improvements and cost reduction projects
• Assist in project support for GPS Pillars
• Gather information, monitor, and update speed, waste, minor stops, changeover losses for equipment
• Follow all Toppan safety expectations
• Assist in creating JSA’s, WKI's, SOP’s and LOTO procedures
• Participate on plant safety teams and activities
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Demonstrate commitment to quality

This position is located in the Hickory, NC facility and 100% onsite.

• Currently enrolled in a High School or University degree program.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment would be an asset
• Ability to work independently once an assignment has been communicated
• Organize workload to coordinate and execute an effective completion plan
• Communicate effectively with all levels within the manufacturing community
• Possess strong critical thinking, problem solving, analyzing, and examining skills to find the best solutions to various situations
• Technical aptitude
• Strong computer skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
• 18 years or older
