- Evaluates employee performance and mentors employees.
- Interviews prospective employees and co-ordinates new employee orientation.
- Completes and maintains sterilization records.
- Establishes and recommends short and long term objectives for the department and monitors progress towards their achievement
- Assures maintenance and repair of sterilization equipment.
- Stays abreast of current developments in the field, implements new concepts and practices as applicable.
- Serves as a liaison between vendors and OR/SP personnel.
- Works with Manager to develop process for instrument centralization and reducing duplication between specialties as well as reducing excess in instrument inventory through available resources.
Surgical Technologist or Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician
3-5 years of Sterile Processing or Operating Room experience.
Extensive experience in aseptic technique; be familiar with theory and practice of the mechanics of sterilization.
Knowledge of all supplies, equipment and instruments in the department
