Location:

Hibbing, MN

The Employee Health & Job Care Manager leads occupational health and wellness initiatives, supervises daily operations and staff, and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations. This role combines clinical oversight, program coordination, planning and development of services, and business outreach to promote workforce well‑being and organizational growth. Responsibilities include providing occupational health services, assisting in the treatment and management of ill and injured workers, participating in medical monitoring for regulated industries, performing medical case management for select companies, and supporting continuous quality improvement efforts.

Schedule

This position will work 80 hours per two weeks. The shift length will be 8‑hours on the Day shift. No Weekends. Internal Posting: 1/17/26

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Job Care Occupational Health program and direct team members to ensure effective implementation and delivery of services.
  • Complete performance appraisals, manage orientation, counsel staff, and participate in disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to staff based on workflow and department needs.
  • Prepare and monitor budget; make recommendations regarding staffing, facilities, equipment, and supplies.
  • Serve as an information, education, and training resource for staff.
  • Assist in revising, developing, and promoting programs and services for the organization and external customers.
  • Ensure annual review and update of policies, procedures and pricing lists specific to Employee Health and Job Care.
  • Perform health assessments, maintain accurate documentation, and administer plan of care according to job requirements or physician orders.
  • Conduct objective occupational health assessments, including history-taking, testing procedures, and treatment.
  • Provide health education related to testing procedures and occupational requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all internal/external customer information and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Prepare timely reports for companies and hospitals regarding injured workers and post‑offer examinations.
  • Perform compliance testing per company contracts (e.g., PFT, EKG, audiometric, drug testing) and administer vaccinations per protocol.
  • Participate in case management of workers' compensation to facilitate return‑to‑work for injured or ill employees.
  • Act as liaison between personal physicians and occupational health physicians to identify modified work duties.
  • Review drug screen results according to MRO standards and ensure proper reporting and follow‑up.
  • Assist physicians in monitoring employee progress during follow‑up visits and communicate concerns to hospital representatives.
  • Evaluate medical exam results and ensure appropriate reporting and follow‑up.
  • Participate in conferences regarding ill or injured workers and communicate pertinent information to the case management team.
  • Identify opportunities for improving systems and outcomes; participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.
  • Prepare suggestions for improving systems, methods, or processes and participate in policy development impacting case management outcomes.
