Our Patient Care segment operates the largest network of O&P clinics nationwide, and our Products & Services segment distributes branded and private‑label O&P devices, rehabilitative solutions, and more. We are seeking a dedicated Prosthetist and/or Orthotist to join one of our over 900 clinics across the country.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with physicians in evaluating and analyzing patient needs for prosthetic/orthotic services; recommend treatment options when necessary.
  • Examine and evaluate patients, formulate design of custom prosthetic/orthotic devices, and select appropriate materials and components.
  • Take cast measurements, model modifications, and layout designs, incorporating new techniques and materials.
  • Perform fittings, including static and dynamic alignments, and adjust devices to ensure fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality of work.
  • Instruct patients on use and care of devices, and identify and reconcile issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Provide follow‑up with patients and physicians, and deliver in‑service training to physicians and allied health professionals.
  • Manage materials, quality, and performance processes to maximize device quality and medical efficacy while balancing costs and operational performance.
  • Meet with physicians, case managers, and referral sources to review services and develop business relationships; identify sources for future referrals.
  • Plan and implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets in coordination with management.
  • Document clinical notes in patient records and assist with reimbursement activities.
  • Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians; provide assistance to other clinical staff.
  • Adhere to safety regulations, Medicare, OSHA requirements, and all applicable governmental regulations.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned; may be asked to provide on‑call service or float between multiple locations.
Qualifications
  • Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from the American Board for Certification (ABC) or the Board of Certification (BOC), or a baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics, with current ABC Board‑Eligibility in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record within Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy standards.
  • In states requiring licensure, ability to obtain and maintain state licensure.
  • Experience of at least 5 years providing prosthetic/orthotic services under supervision may be considered when not certified.
  • Understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Familiarity with componentry suitability and reliability for specific uses.
  • Proficient medical terminology, strong written and oral communication skills, and ability to present concise reports.
  • Skill in instructing clinical and non‑clinical personnel on patient care objectives.
  • Active listening, reading, and comprehension skills for analyzing reports, charts, and correspondence.
  • Ability to assess patient condition and advise physicians on treatment options.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team.
