Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I
Job Title: Phlebotomist I
Location: Hialeah, FL
Duration: 6+ Months (Possibility of Extension)
Shift Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 6:00 AM–3:00 PM and 7:00 AM–4:00 PM (weekly rotation)
- Saturday (Rotational): 6:30 AM–11:00 AM
The Phlebotomist I / Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) plays a vital role in delivering high quality patient care. As the primary point of contact for patients, the PSR I is responsible for collecting high quality blood specimens, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and providing a professional, compassionate patient experience.
This position requires strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and a commitment to accuracy. The PSR I helps create an atmosphere of trust while explaining procedures and performing collections safely and skillfully.
Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Specimen Collection- Draw high quality blood samples from patients using established procedures.
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection with confidence and accuracy.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients to ensure comfort and trust.
- Prepare and process specimens for lab testing following proper protocols.
- Perform daily tasks accurately and on schedule under supervisor direction.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional environment.
- Ensure all required records and documentation are complete and accurate.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle patient information with care.
- Uphold organizational values and promote a positive company image to patients, clients, and colleagues.
- Provide quality, error free work in a fast paced environment.
- Work independently with minimal oversight while maintaining high standards.
- Strong phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections.
- Ability to work efficiently in high volume, fast paced settings.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professionalism are essential.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, overtime, on call shifts as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent — REQUIRED
- Medical assistant or paramedic training — Preferred
- Phlebotomy certification — Preferred
(Required only in CA, NV, and WA)
- Minimum 6 months phlebotomy experience — REQUIRED
- 1+ year phlebotomy experience — Preferred
- Customer service experience in retail or service settings — Preferred
- Keyboarding/data entry experience required
- Candidates must list home city and commute time on the resume.
- Must live within a 20–25 minute commute to ensure coverage reliability.
- Reliable personal transportation is required.
(Bus, Uber, and other rideshare methods are not considered reliable for this role.) - Must be on time consistently, stay for full scheduled shifts, and maintain strong attendance.
- Excessive tardiness/absenteeism will lead to termination.
