Position Overview:
Facilitate student development and the communication of accurate information regarding degree programs, courses, resources, University policies/procedures, and career opportunities, all with the major purpose of helping students attain their educational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
* Communication Management:
Respond promptly to daily communications via email and voicemail, addressing inquiries promptly and professionally.
* Policy Adherence and Ethical Compliance:
Ensure strict adherence to the University's mission, policies, procedures, ethical standards, compliance with data protection regulations and pertinent legal regulations in all aspects of admission activities.
* University Engagement:
Participate in Commencement Exercises, new student orientation, university events, committees, self-studies, and University Commencement Ceremonies.
* Special Projects:
Execute special projects assigned by the President or supervisor.
* Compliance Adherence:
Ensure compliance with Title IX of the Education Amendments Act of 1972, as well as FNU Policies, Procedures, Rules, and Regulation, the FNU Code of Ethics, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Florida Information Protection Act of 2014 (FIPA), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and all other applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
* Assigned Duties:
Undertake other assigned duties as required.
Position Responsibilities:
1. Informs the students about University's policies and procedures, curricular options and academic program requirements.
2. Advises students on course/program selection, including entrance requirements.
3. Assists students during self-scheduling process and reviews with them any curriculum or class substitution pertaining to their programs.
4. Assists the students in defining their educational objectives.
5. Evaluates degree audit to keep track of academic progress. Assist students with academic problems; and advise students concerning degree requirements.
6. Works with the students to assess their academic performance and areas of strength to ensure they are consistent with their plans.
7. Assists students in managing their study time.
8. Provides close supervision to all at-risk students.
9. Refers students to all available resources.
10. Acts as liaison between students and departments/faculty.
11. Provides expertise on the career options in their fields.
12. Continuously oversee actions for improvements at campus level sited in the Academic.
13. Advisors' Planning, Assessment, and Implementation Form.
14. Oversee compliance with licensing and accrediting organizations.
Department of Defense Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement programs addressing the unique challenges of active-duty students, such as time management and flexible learning options.
2. Provide guidance to service students facing deployment or reassignment, helping them continue their academic progress.
3. Coordinate with the academic leadership to ensure active-duty members have access to academic and support services, even when they are away on military duties.
4. Collaborate with academic departments to facilitate flexible scheduling options and promote online courses to accommodate the unpredictable nature of military responsibilities.
5. Stay informed about changes in military educational policies and ensure the institution's compliance with relevant regulations affecting active-duty students.
Requirements:
* Minimum requirement:
Bachelor's in Psychology, Counseling, Communications, Social Work, Sociology, Human Resources, Education, or similar field or Bachelor degree in any discipline plus 1 or more year of experience in Higher Education setting. Master level Preferred.
* Excellent communication skills, customer service and be able to work in a team environment.
* Communicate effectively in written and oral form in both English and Spanish.
Schedule:
§ Monday - Thursday: 2 days from 8:00am to 5:00pm and 2 days from 12:00pm to 9:00pm
§
* Fridays alternate (campus closes at 7pm) (8:00am to 5:00pm or 10:00am to 7:00pm)
