Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This position is for a Special Education Teacher with a focus on managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students in Miami, FL. The role involves overseeing all aspects of IEP development and compliance, ensuring alignment with applicable regulations, and fostering strong collaboration with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Additionally, you will provide substitute teaching support as needed throughout the school year, maintaining a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and oversee all IEP-related matters to support student success
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local special education regulations
- Collaborate effectively with school staff and district partners to enhance educational outcomes
- Serve as a substitute teacher when necessary to maintain classroom continuity
- Support and guide instructional strategies tailored to students with disabilities
- Bachelors degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field;
Masters degree preferred - Valid Florida Educator Certificate in Exceptional Student Education (ESE), or eligibility for certification
- Completion of Department of Children & Family Child Care Training required
- Minimum of 3 years experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a leadership or coordinator capacity
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is essential
