Role Overview
Malet Lambert School is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the catering team in preparing and providing high-quality, nutritious food for our pupils. This is a permanent role, working 10 hours per week during term time and an additional 10 hours during school holidays for deep cleans and training. Normal working hours are between 11:45 am and 1:45 pm, Monday to Friday. Salary is £5,667.98 per annum, paid in 12 equal instalments.
ResponsibilitiesAs Kitchen Assistant you will be responsible for:
- Assisting the catering team with food preparation and maintenance of cooking areas.
- Ensuring the preparation of meals meets high nutritional standards.
- Maintaining the hygiene and safety of the kitchen environment.
- Undertaking deep cleans and training activities during holiday periods.
QualificationsWe are looking for an individual who has:
- Previous experience of preparing food, preferably in a professional kitchen or catering environment.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety.
