General Purpose
As a member of Store Leadership, the Area Supervisor is responsible for a specific area of the Store, performs general operations, and supervises the Store when acting as the Manager on Duty. Key duties include opening/closing the Store, supervising Associates, maintaining a tidy and merchandised environment, and executing company operational processes.
- Maintaining Safe & Secure Environments
Practices safe behaviors, corrects unsafe conditions, secures building entrance/exit, performs EAS checks, ensures cash office security, removes clutter, and monitors emergency exits. - Customer Service
Treats Customers, Associates, and leaders with respect, demonstrates courtesy and professionalism, and recognizes Associates through company programs. - Personal and Store Brand
Represents and supports the company brand, maintains a professional appearance, adheres to the dress code, keeps store clean and merchandised, and removes daily trash. - General Merchandising
Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet standards, receives merchandise truck, processes all merchandise, maintains stockroom cleanliness, places merchandise on the sales floor, secures back‑stock, and manages floor moves and signing. - Loss Prevention
Complies with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program, safeguards confidential information and cash, maintains the PVM system, conducts “code” package inspections, and executes company best practices. - Front End Supervision and Operations
Executes company best practices, manages the front end line, trains Associates on front end procedures, controls break schedule, maintains equipment, and ensures products are scanned and bagged properly. - Fitting Rooms
Maintains fitting room cleanliness, audits garment tags, and ensures go‑back compliance. - Administrative Duties as Assigned by Store Manager
Conducts cash pulls and bank deposits, handles front end control, performs payroll administration, and completes other duties as assigned. - Competencies
Manages work processes, exhibits business acumen, plans and prioritizes, builds talent, collaborates, leads by example, communicates effectively, and ensures accountability and execution.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with point‑of‑sale equipment and applications.
- Basic mathematical calculations common in retail environments.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC.
- Stand, walk, and move around the store for 100% of working time.
- Regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop.
- Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 lbs.
- Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
- Stockroom shifts: push, pull, and lift more than 20 lbs.
