Job Introduction

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Strategic Team Leader to manage and inspire our team of planning officers. You will lead the delivery of large-scale strategic development projects that shape the long-term vision of East Herts. Key Responsibilities:

- Lead, motivate, and manage a team of planning officers focused on strategic development projects.
- Oversee the assessment and progression of large-scale planning applications and policy development.
- Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, developers, and the community to ensure successful project delivery.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on strategic planning matters.
- Monitor and report on project progress, risks, and outcomes to senior management and elected members.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team and planning processes.

What We’re Looking For:

- Proven experience in managing teams within a planning or development context, preferably in local government.
- Strong knowledge of strategic planning, policy frameworks, and large-scale development projects.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Passion for sustainable development and community-focused planning.
