Job overviewWe are recruiting for a Radiology IT Technician who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Radiology IT Technician will perform and demonstrate knowledge / expertise in the routine support and administration of the Radiology Clinical IT Systems. This includes using clinical IT computer systems to update/validate patient data and co-ordinate patient images.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of professional, effective and customer focused support to East and North Herts NHS Trust computer users. To adhere to strict protocols and procedures in supporting staff and ensure that correct escalation channels are followed.
To be able to communicate with users who may be experiencing difficulties with a range of IT problems and may be stressed or aggressive, assessing the situation and gather information to resolve problems in a timely effective manner whilst reassuring the end user.
This is an important role as some of the Radiology clinical applications run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and as such the post holder will be required to participate in the Clinical IT team on-call, out of hours support.

The Radiology IT Technician will provide 2nd line support using advance skills and complex knowledge of all clinical IT systems using available tools and technologies to diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve problems.
To accurately document all support calls and emails, gathering as much information as quickly as possible to correctly diagnose faults. Taking ownership for 2nd line issues and managing the resolution ensuring that service level agreements are met.
The post holder will provide advice, assurance, training, and support to users in both standard desktop software and clinical systems.
Ensure that data entry is accurate to provide basic stat reports for end users.
To follow escalation channels ensuring that the correct route to resolve the call is followed. If calls are passed to third party resolver groups, the post holder is required to monitor the call with the third party and ensure its correct and timely resolution.
