At St Augustine's we provide holistic care for 52 residents, including those living with dementia, in a warm, supportive environment guided by our values of compassion, dignity, and respect.

As a Laundry Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the wellbeing and comfort of our residents. By ensuring that clothing, bedding, and linens are always fresh, clean, and well cared for, you’ll help create a homely and dignified environment where residents feel valued and respected. You’ll also work closely with colleagues across the home to make sure laundry services run smoothly and efficiently.

• Collect, sort, wash, dry, and iron residents’ clothing, bedding, and linens.
• Ensure that residents’ personal items are handled with care and returned promptly.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and infection control in all laundry areas.
• Operate laundry equipment safely and in line with policies and procedures.
• Work closely with care and housekeeping colleagues to ensure residents’ needs are met.
• Keep laundry and storage areas clean, tidy, and well organised.
• Respect confidentiality and maintain dignity in handling residents’ belongings.

• Contribute to a positive, supportive, and resident-focused environment.
• A caring, compassionate, and respectful approach to supporting residents.
• Reliability and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication and teamwork skills to work closely with colleagues across the home.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Previous experience in a laundry, or care home environment
