Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates may apply for candidates with strong subject knowledge or previous classroom/Cover Supervisor experience. Pay is in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

Teach Now is currently recruiting a Science Cover Supervisor with a Chemistry specialism for a 3-week assignment at a well-regarded secondary school in Watford, Hertfordshire.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong science background who is confident managing a classroom and delivering pre-prepared lesson materials across the science department. The role would suit a graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced cover supervisor looking to gain valuable secondary school experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervising Science lessons with a focus on Chemistry

• Delivering pre-set lesson materials to students

• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining engagement

• Supporting the Science department where required

• Ensuring a safe, structured and productive learning environment

Requirements

• Strong science background, ideally with knowledge of Chemistry

• A degree in Science or related subject is desirable

• Previous experience as a cover supervisor, teaching assistant, tutor or teacher is beneficial

• Confidence in managing classrooms and maintaining behaviour expectations

• Ability to start immediately and commit to the full 3-week placement
