Ready for a role where every day genuinely matters? We Staff Education are recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and forward-thinking special school in Hertford, Hertfordshire — a setting where staff are valued and students are truly supported to thrive.

Salary: £20,000 per annum

Contract:

Full-time, permanent (Monday-Friday)

Start Date:

Within 1-4 weeks
Eligibility:
Full Right to Work in the UK (no sponsorship)

Why This Role?

You’ll be working in a specialist SEN school supporting pupils aged 4-19 with Autism (ASC), MLD/SLD, and Social, Emotional & Communication Needs. This is a hands‑on, rewarding role where you’ll support students to build confidence, independence, and life skills — celebrating progress every step of the way. You’ll be part of a close‑knit team of teachers & support staff who work collaboratively to create a calm, structured, and nurturing learning environment.

No SEN experience? No problem. The school provides full induction, training, and ongoing development — they’re looking for the right attitude, not just experience.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting students 1:1 and in small groups
  • Assisting with engaging, inclusive classroom activities
  • Encouraging communication, independence, and positive behaviour
  • Helping maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment
  • Working closely with teachers and professionals to meet individual needs
