Job Description – School Nurses (RNs) –
Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best pre‑K through 12th grade private schools, where approximately 2,200 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost‑free home and a top‑notch education. Thanks to the generosity of Milton and Catherine Hershey in 1909, the school is fully endowed today, with the resources to ensure students can thrive. The school has prepared over 12,000 graduates to lead fulfilling and productive lives and is expanding to serve more students.
MHS seeks full‑time Registered School Nurses (RNs) to provide acute and comprehensive health care to students from Pre‑K to 12th graders. The child‑centered structure of MHS’s Health Services programs enables nurses to focus where their heart is – on student/patient care. With a 24/7/365 health center facility, a 40‑bed infirmary, and three school medical clinics with state‑of‑the‑art equipment, MHS is committed to educating the whole child.

RNs work year‑round and the current available shift is Monday – Friday 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM at the Health Center. Rotation to cover for holidays, emergency conditions (including snow), and mandatory enrollments and students returning to campus from holiday breaks. The RNs are represented by the Milton Hershey Education Association (MHEA).
Salary: $75,774.00 – $ per year (plus shift differential). Pay is determined based on experience. Full‑time employees are eligible for an excellent benefits package, including paid time off, medical and dental insurance, and financial benefits.
Qualifications- PA Registered Nurse License required; bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- Minimum of two years nursing experience, including physical assessment, primary pediatric, school health and/or emergency nursing, and counseling skills.
- Valid license to practice as a registered nurse in PA.
- Valid PA Driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability and willingness to be flexible regarding the work schedule is essential.
- Current CPR certification and advanced first‑aid training.
- Candidates must demonstrate a high level of integrity, as all MHS staff are role models for MHS students.
- Candidates must be willing to actively engage with MHS students beyond the scope of their job responsibilities.
