Milton Hershey School (MHS) is one of the world’s best pre‑K through 12th grade private schools, where approximately 2,200 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are provided with a cost‑free home and a top‑notch education. MHS is seeking a full‑time second shift Custodian/floater to join the Building Services team. The Building Services group pledges to provide a clean and healthy school environment for the students and staff. In addition to overall administrative facilities cleanliness, the department helps with event arrangements, daily operations and maintenance of all campus swimming pools, snow removal, and the summer scheduling of Student Residence building carpet cleaning.

The MHS custodians are defined as emergency personnel to support the onsite life‑sustaining residential model during weather emergencies.

MHS custodians are responsible for maintaining campus buildings as assigned in a neat, clean, and orderly condition, cleaning classrooms, shop areas, hallways, offices, gymnasiums, restrooms, locker rooms, and pool areas; emptying waste baskets and handling trash/recyclable. They may also be required to perform minor maintenance, assist in setups for meetings/events, unlock and lock buildings, and assist with snow removal.

Work schedule:

Monday through Friday 1:30 pm – 10:00 pm. This is a bargaining unit position with hourly pay rate of $25.75, plus excellent benefits.

• Maintain campus buildings as assigned in a neat, clean, and orderly condition, cleaning classrooms, shop areas, hallways, offices, gymnasiums, restrooms, locker rooms, and pool areas; empty waste baskets and handle trash/recyclable.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks.
• Assist in setups for meetings and events.
• Unlock and lock buildings.
• Assist with snow removal and other assigned duties.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of six months’ experience in institutional/commercial cleaning.
• Physically fit to lift or move items up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Valid PA driver’s license in good standing.
• Working knowledge of cleaning products and procedures.
• Working knowledge of cleaning equipment, including small tractors, gators or similar equipment, and snow removal equipment such as blowers.
• Must be available for snow removal and other essential duties as assigned.
• Swimming pool cleaning experience is a plus.
• Bloodborne pathogen training is a plus.
• Demonstrate a high degree of integrity.
• Willingness to actively engage with students beyond job responsibilities.

Hourly pay rate of $25.75 plus excellent benefits.
