The expansive campus, spanning over 6,000 acres and encompassing 300 buildings across two locations in Hershey, is a testament to MHS's commitment to growth and its mission to serve even more students in the future. MHS is seeking a Senior Server Administrator to join its dynamic Information Technology (IT) Department. This full‑time, in‑person role in Hershey, PA, offers a competitive salary ranging from $89,139 to $119,000 annually and a comprehensive benefits package.

This position will work within the IT Department's Infrastructure Team to support the school’s server and data center technology which spans two on‑site data centers, 250 servers, and a wide variety of scholastic and business applications and services. Other members of this team support the campus data network, telecom systems, audio/video systems, and related services.

As a Senior Server Administrator, you'll contribute to the backbone of MHS’s technology landscape. Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and support the School’s Office 365 business suite of applications
  • Utilize server management tools to monitor, analyze, and optimize system performance and availability
  • Upgrade and support the existing server infrastructure to ensure availability, reliability, security, and efficiency
  • Support the Privileged Access Management system to allow contractors access to secure systems and manage privileged and service accounts
  • Diagnose and resolve all server‑related hardware and software issues
  • Assist in the design and implementation of server and client‑based security practices (e.g., Windows Group Policy)
  • Maintain servers and applications by applying approved operating system and application updates
  • Maintain functional backup of all systems and ensure redundant systems are designed and tested accordingly
  • Assist with developing, maintaining, and testing the school’s disaster recovery systems and procedures
  • Interface with the Client Support and Application Systems teams to deliver server and cloud‑based solutions
  • Perform routine audits of account and file access to ensure proper security and data protection
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of all servers, storage, and systems
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other IT team members around server administration tasks
  • Participate in a rotating after‑hours support schedule
  • Assist with evaluating, designing, and implementing new systems, including physical and virtual servers, storage solutions, backup systems, and server/cloud hosted applications
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or commensurate years of experience
  • 3 or more years’ experience implementing and supporting server systems (hardware, software, storage, backup, account/file share administration, etc.)
  • Proven ability to work effectively and contribute in a collaborative team environment
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in building and supporting server infrastructure
