Summary of Position

The Hospital Admissions Registration Associate advances the revenue cycle process for services rendered within a bedded hospital setting. The incumbent is responsible for securing all information required to accurately complete the patient registration, converting the correct visit within the billing system, eligibility verification, and reviewing regulatory requirements for admissions, observations, and surgical day care visits.

Registration Associates at Hershey Medical Center will enjoy flexibility with schedules and tasks ranging from mobile registration, administrative work, phone calls, etc. Weekend rotations are spread out at every 6th weekend. The Registration team holds a crucial role within our organization, significantly influencing the overall experience of patients. There are opportunities for advancement within the department to Senior Associate roles and Team Lead positions.

Responsibilities
  • Secure all information required to accurately complete patient registration.
  • Convert the correct visit within the billing system and verify eligibility.
  • Review regulatory requirements for admissions, observations, and surgical day care visits.
  • Perform mobile registration, administrative tasks, and phone-based duties as part of a flexible schedule.
  • Participate in weekend rotations (every 6th weekend) and holiday coverage as applicable.
  • Contribute to a positive patient experience and support department goals for revenue cycle processes.
  • Explore opportunities for advancement within the department (e.g., Senior Associate, Team Lead).
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Insurance experience preferred at time of hire.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
