The Department of Neurosurgery at Penn State Health and Penn State College of Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Spine Neurosurgeon with interest and expertise in spinal oncology to join the team at our flagship hospital, Penn State Hershey Medical Center (PSHMC) in Hershey, PA. Fellowship level experience in spinal surgery with an emphasis on oncological disorders of the spine is preferred.
This is a full-time academic position with an academic appointment commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to patient care, a desire to pursue cutting-edge research, and a passion for education. The ability to work collaboratively is essential.
Position Highlights.
Responsibilities- Provide clinical care as part of an academic spinal oncology program at PSHMC, including responsibilities across outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Engage in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Collaborate with medical oncology, radiation oncology, and the Penn State Cancer Institute.
- Participate in research and innovation initiatives within the department.
- Contribute to program development and quality improvement efforts.
- MD, MD/PhD, DO or equivalent degree
- BC/BE Neurosurgery
- Fellowship level experience in spinal surgery with an emphasis on spinal oncology
- Ability to acquire a license to practice medicine in the State of Pennsylvania
- Must be able to obtain valid federal and state opioids certificates
- Track record of clinical excellence
