The Role Peraton is seeking Entry-level Software Engineers in our Herndon, VA location to support a large software development classified program developing, operating, and maintaining mission critical enterprise capabilities. Program includes development and support for existing mission systems in parallel with effort to develop and deliver modernized cloud native, microservice-based products Team applies Agile methodology, Dev Ops principles and behavior and test-driven development practices.

Responsibilities:

* Candidate will apply agile development processes to implement features as defined by user stories

* Development using Java full stack

* Develop/maintain platform related applications and libraries

* Develop/maintain existing applications as requirements are requested and when updates are required

* Candidate will resolve database issues and in creating new features/functionality for existing databases
Qualifications 0 years with BS/BA; 4 years no degree

Required Qualifications:

* Must be willing to upgrade to a TS/SCI clearance and pass a polygraph - Contract requires TS/SCI with poly.
* Strong foundational knowledge working with Java OOP development.

* Willingness to learn and become an effective team member.

* Strong written and oral communication skills.

* Must be local to Herndon, VA as work is on-site daily.

Qualifications:

* Demonstrated experience with the systems engineering life-cycle.

* Previous hands-on experience through coursework or internships.
* Previous hands-on coding experience with Python, Angular, Postgres, and SQL.

* Experience working within Linux environments.
SCA / Union / Intern Rate or Range Details Target Salary Range: $80,000 - $128,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
