Description

The Audiovisual Technician role is at The Boeing Company – Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) located in Herndon, VA. The position provides AV systems installation, configuration and troubleshooting services to a variety of government customers, while interpreting engineering drawings and ensuring compliance with Boeing and customer specifications.

• Perform onsite AV systems installation and integration, including mounting and anchoring equipment, pulling and terminating fiber and copper cabling, constructing racks, and configuring AV hardware.
• Support installation of large‑format video walls and other displays.
• Interpret engineering drawings to execute AV systems integration in accordance with Boeing and customer specifications.
• Participate in installation planning by assessing manpower, equipment staging, and tool and resource requirements.
• Support system test readiness reviews and all testing events.
• Provide troubleshooting services.
• Work closely with installation and engineering teams to ensure equipment is installed in accordance with industry, Boeing, and customer standards.
• Provide onsite coordination with and oversight of subcontractors and vendors during installation projects as required.
• Ensure high standards of safety and quality during all installation projects.
• Attend daily team meetings with Boeing and technician staff.
• Maintain a professional demeanor while performing installation services at sensitive government facilities.

• Willingness and ability to upgrade CIP to FSP post‑start if needed.
• Years of related experience: 3+ for Level 3, 5+ for Level 4.
• Experience with Audio Visual (AV) and Video Teleconference (VTC) components, systems, products, and equipment.
• Physical ability to walk constantly throughout the workday; stand 6‑8 hours per day; climb or work from stairs up to eight hours per day; climb ladders; bend and twist frequently up to six hours per day; squat and kneel.
• Ability to climb ladders at heights up to 15 feet and stairs on a regular basis.

• 3+ years of AV experience specifically in system installation and configuration.
• Experience working with QSC, Samsung, Crestron, Extron, and Think logical.
• AVIXA certification.
• Must be able to travel to various job sites as needed and sometimes drive company vehicle.

Level 3 – $93,500 – $126,500;
Level 4 – $119,850  $162,150.

Ability and willingness to work occasional compensated ad‑hoc support outside of typical business hours.

Position requires an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) U.S. Security Clearance with an adjudicated Counter‑Intelligence Polygraph (CIP) or Full Scope Polygraph. (A clearance active in the past 24 months is considered active.) The 3‑month, 6‑month, 9‑month and 12‑month touchdown dates are 15 April 2026, 20 May 2026, 13 June 2026, and 24 July 2026, respectively.
