Overview

Business Development Intern - Mid Atlantic/GPSU. This is a part-time, remote paid internship ($20/hr) offered as part of a GPSU cohort running from May 18 - Aug 7, 2026. Interns are expected to work a majority of hours between 11am-4pm EST Monday through Friday, ranging from 25-29 hrs/wk. The internship is mainly remote with limited regional travel. The intern must be located in one of the following states: MD, DC, VA, WV, PA, DE, NC.

Preferred location: NC.

• Identify potential clients and maintain accurate CRM data
• Work with Account Executives and the BDR Team to develop targeted outreach plans to increase business opportunities
• Sync with Account Executives regularly to provide updates on outreach efforts, successes, and areas of improvement
• Follow-up, qualify, engage, and manage leads and opportunities via  and Marketo
• Learn OEM technologies and understand and articulate their value proposition to clients
• Assist marketing in driving attendance to GuidePoint events and activities
• Represent GuidePoint Consultants to clients and articulate our areas of expertise
• Create email and call shells for individual/event-based outreach, including targeted messaging, registration links, and OEM information
• Take notes during prospect meetings and enter into  to capture wants/needs of prospects/customers for Sales team to track
• At the end of the internship, present metrics on successes and ROI within business development efforts to Mid-Atlantic leaders
• Other related duties to support the region as required and assigned

• Must be located within the Mid-Atlantic region (MD, DC, VA, WV, PA, DE, NC)
• Willingness to learn about cybersecurity solutions and business development processes
• Strong communication skills to interact with Account Executives and vendor partners
• Prior experience in sales is desired
• Prior experience in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is desired

This is a part-time, remote paid internship ($20/hr) offered as part of the GPSU cohort running from May 18 - Aug 7, 2026. Interns are expected to:

• Work a majority of hours between 11am-4pm EST Monday through Friday, ranging from 25-29 hrs/wk
• Attend the mandatory in-person onboarding at one of the following office locations:
  Reston, VA or Tampa, FL (location TBD) from May 18 - May 21, 2026 (all expenses paid)
• Have a personal computing device and access to high-speed internet during working hours

While the internship allows flexible hours, interns will often be required to attend trainings and shadowing opportunities between 11am - 4pm EST, Monday - Friday. It is vital for the intern's development to attend these events.
