The Data Center Global Controls team seeks a Controls Technician responsible for the installation, servicing, and upgrading of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS) across Amazon data centers. The role focuses on building automation, system testing, troubleshooting, and project management, while actively innovating for customer experience.

• Deploy, service, and upgrade BMS and EPMS systems at multiple data centers.
• Mentor and train Facilities team members on BMS/EPMS operation and control.
• Audit and maintain asset management systems for BMS/EPMS installations.
• Manage small to medium‑size projects and programs.
• Perform point‑to‑point checkouts between field devices and controllers.
• Conduct first‑line diagnostics, troubleshooting, and maintenance of programming code and hardware.
• Provision servers, controllers, industrial PCs, network configurations, and test communications with third‑party devices.
• Install, replace, configure, and calibrate sensors and field devices.
• Read electrical schematics, control panel drawings, and understand close‑loop controls and field sensors.
• Supervise low‑voltage electrical contractors in compliance with AWS requirements.
• Support commissioning, systems‑level testing, and factory‑witnessed vendor tests.
• Create red‑lined drawings and documentation of systems.
• Follow change‑management processes to generate work requests and procedures.
• Assist with root‑cause analysis during testing and commissioning.
• Ensure safety methodology for all on‑site personnel.
• Work on‑call and rotating schedule for after‑hours emergencies.
• Manage service agreements, vendor labor scheduling, quality assurance, and invoice review.
• Execute service activities such as ticketing review, root‑cause analysis, and task prioritization.

• 1+ years of professional experience in technical work related to computer systems and technology components.
• Technical diploma or associate degree with one year experience in industrial instrumentation/controls or equivalent electrical/mechanical operations.
• Minimum one year of experience with mission‑critical low and medium‑voltage electrical and/or mechanical systems.

• 1+ years of relevant work in a data center or other critical environment.
• Fundamental knowledge of network design, low‑voltage (copper/fiber) cabling.
• Basic understanding of industrial controls system, controllers, and programming (analog/discrete and networked I/O).
• ISA Certified Controls System Technician (CCST) Level I or higher.

Walk jobsites in uneven terrain, work at heights and ladders, perform manual handling up to 49 lb (group lifts of 50 lb or more), and routinely use hands & arms for reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.

Base hourly rate: $32.00‑$57.00, with sign‑on payments, RSUs, and a comprehensive benefits plan (health, dental, vision, life, 401(k) match, PTO, parental leave, etc.).
