Overview

Airbus/Satair is looking for a Compliance Solutions Specialist to join our team in Herndon, Virginia. This role bridges regulatory requirements and operational data. It is not a traditional administrative compliance role; we need an investigator with natural curiosity who can leverage advanced data tools (Skywise, Power

BI, and AI) to ensure strict adherence to 19 CFR and global trade standards. You will ensure Satair USA's compliance with U.S. Customs regulations while building data models that automate audits, visualize risks, and streamline our aviation aftermarket supply chain.

The position requires extensive knowledge of U.S. Customs Regulations including HTSUS and ECCN classification, free trade agreements, country of origin requirements, Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and all applicable U.S. Customs rules. You will report directly to the Head of Finance Americas.

The Washington, D.C. metro area is home to multiple Airbus offices. In our nation’s capital you will find the Airbus Experience Center, a collection of interactive exhibitions highlighting the company’s role in aviation, aerospace and defense. The D.C. area also hosts our regional corporate headquarters near Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

4 major areas (percentages indicate expected focus):

• Strategic Classification:
  Oversee HTS and ECCN classification for aviation aftermarket parts with systematic, logic-based management.
• Regulatory Governance:
  Act as SME for U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR) and corporate policies to ensure compliance of import/export activities.
• Broker Management:
  Serve as primary liaison for Satair's customs brokers and subcontractors, driving accountability and timely clearance.

• Data Mining:
  Use SQL and Skywise to extract supply chain data, identify compliance gaps, cost-saving opportunities and duty drawbacks.
• Visualization:
  Design and maintain Power
  
  BI dashboards to translate complex data into clear narratives for senior leadership (KPIs, entry timeliness, accuracy).
• Tech-Driven Compliance:
  Leverage AI/ML models to reconcile regulatory requirements with dynamic operational data.

• Workflow Automation:
  Develop VBA macros and scripts to automate repetitive tasks such as entry validation and duty calculation.
• Data-First Auditing:
  Conduct internal audits on import/export entries to detect anomalies and prevent penalties.
• Cross-Functional Integrity:
  Collaborate with logistics and engineering to ensure master data integrity across systems.

• Support the Customs Manager in high-level initiatives and continuous improvement projects.

• Required — High School diploma or GED
• Required — 6+ years in U.S. import compliance or import operations
• Regulatory Expertise:
  Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations (19 CFR), HTSUS, and PGA requirements.
