AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We keep the cloud running, supporting all data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain and are looking for talented people who want to help.
You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. NOTE:
Lump sum stipend will be provided to eligible candidates who relocate for this position.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
- Work in an environment that operates 24/7 with primary responder rotation and after‑hours support as needed.
- Work in cramped, elevated, and noisy environments.
- Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
- Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation.
- Travel or commute between data center locations as needed.
- Willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training periods or until the assigned facility is operational.
- Travel frequency will vary based on business needs and the operational status of the assigned facility.
Candidates must be able to travel over 50 miles or commute within 50 miles to active data center sites as required by business needs.
Key Job Responsibilities- Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
- Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cabling between equipment.
- Ensure proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation.
- Follow well‑established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities.
- Safely use material handling tools and equipment.
- Travel within and outside the regional work area is required; a reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license are necessary.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ year of experience in a technical or vocational role such as Computer Hardware Repair, Infrastructure Cabling, Network Deployment, or Data Center Operations.
- Knowledge of network cabling, optical types, and test equipment.
- Industry standard certifications (e.g., CompTIA, CCENT, Network+).
- Experience with cabling infrastructure best practices and methodologies.
