Job Overview

The main responsibility of the Sr. Dev Ops Engineer role is to build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines, support cloud infrastructure, and build automation around it. This role is also responsible for building reliability, scalability, and observability around deployed software applications, and for improving operational efficiencies and implementing security controls.

Job Responsibilities
  • Architect, build, and provision cloud infrastructure
  • Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for software applications
  • Manage containerized environments using Docker and introduce orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes) as scale requires
  • Implement security into deployments by design, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation
  • Implement monitoring and observability to track system health, performance, and reliability
  • Support database operations, including scaling, backups, and recovery
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required
  • 5+ years of strong hands‑on cloud experience, preferably AWS in production environments
  • In‑depth understanding of Docker and containerization workflows (Kubernetes)
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines with tools like Argo CD, Jenkins, Git Lab Runner
  • Solid scripting skills in Bash and/or Python
  • Experience supporting MS‑SQL or similar databases
  • Strong understanding of security fundamentals and access management

Compensation & Benefits

SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes toward an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is 159,800 – 271,600 USD.
