About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Help Desk/ Sys Admin to join our IT team. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for technology, problem-solving, and customer service. As the first point of contact for IT support, you will assist users with technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to help desk tickets, emails, and phone calls, providing first-level technical support.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues for computers, printers, mobile devices, and other IT equipment.
- Assist with setting up new user accounts, password resets, and access requests.
- Install, update, and configure software applications.
- Maintain accurate documentation of support requests and resolutions.
- Escalate complex issues to higher-level IT staff when necessary.
- Assist with IT asset management and inventory tracking.
- Provide basic training to employees on IT policies and best practices.
0 years with BS/BA; 4 years no degree
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 4 years of experience in an IT support or help desk role may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Active TS clearance with the ability to obtain SCI and a polygraph.
- Basic knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office 365, email troubleshooting, and common software applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Location:
on site in Herndon, VA.
- Experience with ticketing systems like Service Now, Zendesk, or similar.
- Basic networking knowledge (IP addresses, routers, VPNs, etc.).
- IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation, or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals are a plus.
$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
