This role supports the Facilities Solutions Group (FSG) reporting to the Senior Director of Project Controls and serves as a senior individual contributor responsible for enterprise pricing activities across the group. The position provides direct exposure to senior leadership and end‑to‑end visibility into Akima’s pricing and financial data model, from pricing structure setup through customer‑facing reporting and analysis.

The role spans pricing execution, governance, and process leadership across REAs, change orders, contract modifications, Over & Above (O&A) work, and integration with Project Controls.

Job location can be hybrid work office in Herndon VA, Huntsville AL, or Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities
  • Price Request for Equitable Adjustment’s (REAs) by evaluating scope, cost, and schedule impacts, producing accurate, well‑supported, and defensible pricing aligned to contract terms and work performed.
  • Establish, maintain, and improve related processes, and governance to ensure consistency, compliance, and disciplined execution across Contracts, Operations, Finance, and Project Controls.
  • Manage pricing for change orders and contract modifications, including Over & Above (O&A) work, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant submissions that support negotiation and approval.
  • Partner with Contracts, Operations, Project Controls, Finance, Accounting, HR, capture and proposal teams, and technical leads to ensure pricing inputs are complete, accurate, and aligned.
  • Develop, review, and maintain standard pricing sheets, and enhance analytics to improve decision quality, audit defensibility, and long‑term competitiveness.
  • Support wage‑related pricing activities, ensuring compliance with SCA wage determinations, CBA changes, and FAR requirements.
  • Train estimators, Business Operations Managers, and Project Managers on pricing procedures, standards, and best practices.
  • Support forecasting and financial analysis activities related to pricing, billing execution, and DSO management in coordination with Project Controls.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in federal pricing and project controls with the ability to operate independently in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Extensive experience pricing REAs, including SCA wage determinations, CBA changes, and DBA revisions.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR, DFARS, Cost Accounting Standards, federal cost principles, and indirect cost structures.
  • Advanced experience with Deltek Costpoint core modules and Cognos Reporting “a plus”.
  • Strong understanding of indirect rate structures, pool and base relationships.
  • Advanced Excel capability, including pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups, data queries, and macros;
    Power BI experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with federal government services contracting and pricing models.
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical pricing and financial concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project controls related activities like forecasting, rate analysis, and suspense charging.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; master’s degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in Pricing, including at least 5 years supporting federal contracts.
  • 4+ years of experience using Deltek Costpoint and Cognos Reporting.
  • This Hybrid position requires that you live within commuting distance from Herndon, VA.
