Amazon Web Services is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for our Electrical Products and Services Engineering team. The product engineering team is part of a global engineering team responsible for the design and continuous innovation of products used within our rapidly expanding data center footprint. This team designs and develops resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products and systems. As an engineer at Amazon, we are responsible for achieving world-class uptime for our customers and for driving continuous advancements and improvements with our designs.

We communicate technical direction to Senior Management and seek new ways to enhance reliability, scalability, and cost-effectiveness of our engineering designs. You will have the ability to design, innovate, and influence the products our customers rely on.

• Drive design improvement with the product development team informed by customer and Contract Manufacturer feedback and data
• Provide oversight and guidance to contract manufacturers during all phases of new product introduction and drive process discipline within AWS and vendor teams
• Work with the quality team to improve quality metrics at contract manufacturers/vendors
• Root cause customer-impacting issues and drive resolution
• Work with Contract Manufacturers to drive cycle time improvements leading to realized cost reductions
• Improve processes to simplify and drive efficiencies in the supply chain
• Provide guidance to program management teams and leadership to drive strategic business decisions regarding the contract manufacturing supply base

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• 10+ years leading industrialization of electrical and mechanical products
• Demonstrated track record of driving manufacturing documentation creation including assembly drawings and ingestion into Product Lifecycle Manager
• Experience validating design through prototype builds, pre-production builds and first-of-kind builds and driving manufacturability changes

• Experience performing complex business case analysis to justify technical decisions and presenting the justification to management in a high-level review
• Master's degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical engineering or equivalent
• Experience with the project management of technical projects
• Experience driving supply chain improvement projects
• Working knowledge of various ERP systems to provide guidance to contract manufacturers
• Knowledge of typical data center designs and architectures
