Job DescriptionThe Systems Network Engineer will provide networking support to multiple environments including development, testing, and production. The position will require hands‑on experience installing, configuring, and maintaining routers, switches, VLANs, and firewalls for Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices.

- Provide networking support to multiple environments including development, testing, and production.
- Troubleshoot and problem solve network issues related to switches, routers, and end‑points.
- Install, configure, and maintain multi‑function L2/L3 network devices using NETCONF for policy‑based switching and routing involving unicast and multicast transport methods.
- Identify opportunities for test automation and network observability using NETFLOW, Wireshark, or similar tools.
- Review existing network implementation and related documentation for improvement.
- Support technical working groups and develop contract‑related deliverable documentation (network diagrams, physical network topologies, VLAN logical segmentation, IP address plans, routing).
- Define test scenarios for verification of network device functionality and resiliency.
- Develop new network architectures based on operational requirements.
- Allow for 15% travel to remote sites.
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience; graduate degree and minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience; or in lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance.
- Minimum 3 years’ hands‑on experience with Siemens Ruggedcom network switches and ROX II operating system (preferred).
- Experience designing, deploying, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting IP networks and related equipment, preferably within industrial control system (ICS) environments (SCADA/DCS).
- Experience supporting USG programs (preferably Navy) and developing contract‑related deliverable documentation.
- Knowledge of security concepts with exposure to FIPS standards and NIST 800 Special Publications.
- Knowledge of industrial control network protocols such as Ether Net/IP, Modbus/TCP, PROFINET, and protocol converters.
- Experience with planning test scenarios and writing test procedures for network equipment; familiarity with automated testing tools and scripting languages for network testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of Agile practices.
