Fibertek is looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our Herndon, VA location to contribute to the development of laser products within our R&D team. By taking on both short and long-term projects, you will use your versatility to bring uncharted laser research to the aerospace industry.Job
DutiesYou’ll work on multiple projects with diverse timelines in an R&D environment. You will develop electronics systems and participate in digital and analog circuit development to contribute to the development and upgrading of Fibertek’s electro-optical systems. You will work within a collaborative environment while empowered to make decisions in your area of expertise. You will have the benefit of both your team and senior leadership support.
This will also include supporting project management by engaging with customers through technical interchange meetings and contributing to technical proposals. You will be flexible and have the ability to work on multiple concurrent projects, with a mix of small, short, quick-turn projects and more extensive, long-term projects.Required Skills and ExperienceTo succeed in this Lead Electrical Engineer role, you'll need the below expertise and experience
- BSEE with 15+ years of applicable work experience
- Experience with electrical systems development
- Experience developing hi-rel military and/or space-flight electronics
- Experience leading small teams in a development environment
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Bonus Areas
- MSEE or PhD
- Experience with FPGA/CPLD design, simulation, and troubleshooting
- Experience with LIDAR systems
