Description

Little Oaks Montessori Academy is a Montessori School seeking an Assistant Infant Teacher to support our early childhood education Montessori Program.

To be qualified for this position, we require a high school diploma or GED. Previous childcare experience is a plus.

Shift & Compensation

Shift: Monday – Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Compensation: $18–$20 an hour, based on education and experience

    Job Responsibilities
    • Communicate positively and confidentially, providing feedback to administration, staff, children, and parents; be open to constructive criticism.
    • Receive and implement training in child development, Montessori philosophy, Love and Logic, and adhere to state regulations for care and supervision.
    • Assist Lead Teacher in daily record‑keeping, including progress reports and observations.
    • Build positive relationships with parents and children, respecting cultural differences.
    • Assist in setting behavior standards and use positive behavior‑management techniques that are age‑appropriate, modeling appropriate behavior for children.
    • Maintain the classroom environment indoors and outdoors; ensure it is safe, nurturing, healthy, and stimulating for young children.
    • Follow security procedures at all times.
    • Immediately report any suspicion of abuse or neglect, illness, accident, or distress concerning children, families, colleagues, or self to the Director.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development activities and state‑required trainings.
    • Have physical ability to work around small children, including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
    • Lift and carry up to 40 lbs and fulfill all physical requirements.
