Job DescriptionTemporary (contract) position with no specific time period; contractors are employed by a third‑party vendor and placed on assignment to Airbus Americas, Inc., in Herndon, VA. The role is a General Procurement Project Buyer on Airbus' North American General Procurement team, responsible for maintaining full visibility of contractual and spend data and schedule of ongoing tendering projects.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain full visibility of required contractual data, spend data, and schedule of ongoing tendering projects to support activity of General Procurement in North America.
- Support Senior/Category Buyers managing multi‑functional teams (MFTs), ensuring tendering project schedules and escalation of potential risks to avoid schedule and savings target impacts.
- Facilitate transition of tendering projects to operational ordering, coordinating with Buyers and internal customers.
- Acquire goods and/or services, following Airbus approach on deliveries and contractual terms and conditions.
- Ensure full compliance of contract storage & data availability in SAP, Click & Source & Click n Buy.
- Establish two‑way communication with key functional and local customers; manage integration with assigned General Procurement commodities.
- Drive sourcing projects (call for tenders), preparing spend‑data analysis and supporting contract amendment negotiations.
- Perform local procurement activities in alignment with MFT strategy and support regional/global buyers.
- Contribute to Airbus Group’s Savings Programs by leveraging specification harmonization, volume aggregation, and demand control.
- Escalate blockages to Director or Regional Director as needed.
- Provide coaching to less experienced team members and support continuous process improvement.
- Drive compliance to Airbus General Procurement processes and recommend solutions to operational/contractual problems.
- Report savings to Shared Services organization promptly.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Five or more years of related procurement experience.
- Demonstrated effectiveness as a participant and leader on a work‑focused team.
- Knowledge of Business Case Analysis & Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach.
- Proficiency in procurement process and advanced negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of North American supplier base and cost structure.
- Fluency in written and verbal English (French, German, Spanish highly desirable).
- Project management and supply chain certifications and skills preferred.

Traveling: occasional domestic/international (less than 5 % of time). Requires participation in phone/in‑person conversations and hearing ability.
