As the Book Keeper, you will actively work with corporate departments and government entities to provide day‑to‑day accounting support, ensuring timely delivery of services, data, and reporting while maintaining compliance with accounting regulations, corporate policies, and contract requirements.

• Lead vendor invoice reviews to ensure proper documentation before entry.
• Record and verify expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
• Process check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions.
• Support month‑end closing through analysis and reconciliation of General Ledger transactions.
• Allocate expenditures to correct accounts per company policies.
• Handle vendor administration, including set‑up, maintenance, and updates.
• Communicate complex financial information in writing and verbally to vendors, customers, employees, and leadership.
• Lead all AP reconciliations, including bank, credit card, payroll, vendor payments, and 1099 contractor payments.
• Monitor and reconcile UI tax liabilities in each state where YSI operates.
• Facilitate and issue W‑2s for all YSI employees annually.
• Manage employee wage garnishments (child support, tax levies, court‑ordered deductions) in compliance with federal and state regulations.
• Process business license payments and state tax filings for the Town of Herndon.
• Coordinate with benefits providers for timely HSA and 401(k) reporting and payment.
• Assist with month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes.
• Provide employee support for pay/PTO balances, HSA, and 401(k) inquiries.
• Exercise strong attention to detail.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field and at least 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong background in Accounts Payable (AP) and payroll accounting.
• Experience with accounting software such as Quick Books/Intuit, ADP, Paychex, etc.
• Proficiency with MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Experience with bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Intermediate understanding of accounting practices, federal contract accounting, financial statements, and full accounting cycle.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience accounting for government contractors.

• Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
• Excel expertise, including dashboards and custom reports.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.

• Must be able to work in an office environment.
