CMP) is a global manufacturing company with 6 manufacturing and distribution facilities throughout Canada, the United States, Italy, Australia, and China. CMP supplies the recreational and commercial marine industries with a broad range of products for various industry segments, including anchoring & ground tackle, corrosion, dock & boat accessories, and steering & controls. CMP manufactures and distributes products under the brands, Martyr, Rocna, Vulcan, Titan, Panther, Dock Edge, Octopus, Intellisteer, Sanitation Equipment and, Trollmaster.
We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join the team in our Delta, BC location. Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for the accounts payable cycle including timely and accurate input of assigned accounts payable invoices and the regular follow up with vendors regarding payment of outstanding and overdue invoices. This involves keeping current on all taxes, and other information required to do this job accurately.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE:
- Match invoices and purchase part receivers for assigned vendors
- Ensure approval of invoices as required for assigned invoices
- Process approved invoices for assigned vendors
- Monitoring of accounts payable email folder
- Monitoring of PO accrual report ensuring older items are being cleared for assigned vendors
- Preparing weekly Excel payment listing
- Producing cheques for Delta and Vaughan facilities
- Preparing required invoices for submission to Corporate Controller for electronic payment
- Input of electronic payments into Visual
- Scanning of payment and supporting documents to digital files
- File paid invoices and reports
- Responsible for keeping current with GST/PST regulations.
- Projects as assigned by Assistant Controller
ADMINISTRATION:
- Primary employee to greet all visitors
- Primary employee to answer reception phone
- Distributes mail
OTHER DAILY & MONTHLY
ACTIVITIES:
- Continually challenge the status quo and identify ways to improve process and efficiency within role, department and company.
- Promote safe work practices as outlined in the Worksafe B.C. regulations.
- Ensure the Company’s quality policies and procedures are followed.
- Participate in 1X1 meetings with Assistant Controller.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3 years of experience in an accounts payable role or similar position in the manufacturing or similar industry.
- 3 years of experience in GST/PST regulations
- 3 years of experience in three way matching, vendor reconciliation and responding to vendor requests for information on outstanding invoices and dealing with purchase orders and receipts
- 3 years of experience with an ERP system (Visual ERP an asset)
- 3 years of experience in processing high volume of invoices and sending invoices for approval
- 3 years of experience using Fed Ex, UPS and other freight billing portals to pull invoice copies
- 3 years of experience in GL coding and basic understanding of debits and credits
- 3 years of experience in using MS Office and strong Excel skills
- Basic understanding of Canada and US customs invoices (an asset)
- Comfortable filing, scanning and greeting customers/vendors at the front
- Pulling supporting documents for weekly pay runs
- Very high attention to details and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Other duties as assigned
- 8:00 m – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday
- Hybrid – 6 months in the office before transitioning to a hybrid position
