At Tutor Me Education, we are revolutionizing the way students learn, and we're seeking passionate teachers and tutors with special education experience to provide 1:1 in-home tutoring in Hermosa Beach, CA! About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Hermosa Beach, CA
Details:
- In-Person Tutoring in Hermosa Beach, CA
- Schedule: 6 hours, 1 session a week for 1.5 hours
- Pay range is between $25 and $35
- Highly experienced tutor with a background supporting preschool-aged children with Autism and Apraxia.
- Strong understanding of early literacy development, including letter recognition, letter sounds, sight words, and early writing skills.
- Experience working with students who use AAC devices, with the ability to model communication, provide visual supports, and encourage functional language.
- Patient, calm, and nurturing, with the ability to maintain structure while keeping sessions engaging and developmentally appropriate.
- Skilled in using hands-on, multisensory strategies to support fine motor development and early academic readiness.
- Comfortable implementing repetitive practice, step-by-step instruction, and positive reinforcement to support learning and attention.
- Provide individualized instruction in early reading and language skills, including letters, letter sounds, sight words, early writing, and AAC-supported communication.
- Support foundational math concepts such as number sense, shapes, colors, and early problem-solving skills.
- Incorporate multisensory, hands-on activities (e.g., tracing, sorting, building, tactile play) to reinforce concepts and maintain engagement.
- Model and prompt effective communication using the student's AAC device throughout sessions.
- Support fine motor skills and early academic readiness through structured, play-based learning activities.
- Implement consistent routines with scheduled breaks and positive reinforcement to promote focus, confidence, and motivation.
- Track progress and adjust instructional strategies to support readiness for Kindergarten.
