Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Healthcare Setting: 33-bed Medical/Surgical unit (6th floor, Main Campus)

• Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

• Hours per Week: 36

• Scheduling:
Every other weekend required

• Patient Ratio: 7:1 nights

• Support Staff: 3 techs per shift, unit secretary on days

• Documentation System:
Meditech

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $$1640
Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Tennessee or compact state)

• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience

• BLS certification (American Heart Association required)

• Strong IV skills; experience with Kangaroo pumps and SCDs

• Ability to float to other appropriate hospital units as needed

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate care to a diverse Med/Surg patient population

• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage IVs and infusion pumps

• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes

• Accurately document all patient care activities in Meditech EHR

• Educate patients and families to promote positive healthcare experiences

• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines

• Float to other nursing units as required by hospital needs
