In this role, you’ll help to inspect, repair, service, and maintain gasoline, diesel powered, and electronically operated mobile equipment. You’ll learn the inner workings of each piece of equipment, become an expert at what you do, and expand your skillset by working on new equipment each day.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with hands, loves to problem‑solve and troubleshoot, and takes pride in rolling up your sleeves to get the job done. Limited experience? No worries! Wage: $26.00/hr – $33.00/hr DOE with potential overtime.

- Opportunities for Community Engagement
- Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains equipment.
- Works at both Hermiston, OR and Boardman, OR locations.
- Operates and inspects machines or equipment to diagnose defects.
- Dismantles and reassembles equipment, using hoists and hand tools.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges.
- Replaces defective engines and subassemblies, such as transmissions.
- Tests overhauled equipment to ensure operating efficiency (must be able to operate all equipment).
- May direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly and disassembly of equipment.
- Performs record keeping of time and parts used on the appropriate forms.
- Performs general cleaning of work areas and maintenance areas.
- Assists other maintenance department staff in performing the duties necessary to assure the efficiency of operations of vehicles.
- Prompts communication with supervisors on any flaws in material.
- Takes action to avoid potential hazards or obstructions.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned to meet business needs.
- Maintains regular and timely attendance.

- Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
- 1–2 years of experience.
- Experience with diesel trucks.
- Experience with trailers and air brakes.
- Must pass pre‑employment physical exam and pre‑employment controlled substance testing.
- Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and all other company or state rules and regulations.
- Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
- Demonstrates ability to work and communicate well with supervisors, truck drivers, heavy equipment operators, and other employees.
- Demonstrates the ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions.
- Demonstrates the willingness to learn and work a variety of job tasks.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
