What you will do

The Utility Operator provides entry‑level work in production departments within the plant in both cheese and cold storage. The position is responsible for keeping the plant areas safe, sanitary, and efficient. You will cover for Operators as needed for absences, training, or other assignments and may be assigned to special duties.

A day in life

• Assist in the setup, cleaning, and operation of the towers, sealers, and boxers.
• Maintain a clean work area and follow good manufacturing practices (GMP) standards.
• Use ERP/NAV interface.
• Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment problems.
• Maintain general housekeeping according to the Make Room MSS.
• Perform other duties assigned by supervisor or lead during the course of the day.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Dependable, honest, ethical, reliable, responsible, and able to fulfill obligations.
• 1+ years of food production or manufacturing experience desired.
• Willingness to take on responsibilities and challenges, establish and achieve goals, and learn new tasks.
• Effective communication, teamwork, and interaction with staff at all levels.
• Ability to work a 12‑hour night shift on a rotating schedule with every other weekend off. Holiday shifts also required.

Physical Requirements

• Occasional lifting of supplies using equipment.
• Standing and lifting up to 45 lbs. at a height of 55 inches.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 45 lbs. at waist height for 6 feet.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. as needed.
