The Assistant Director of Nursing

The Assistant Director of Nursing will assist the Director of Nursing to plan, organize, develop, and direct the overall operation of the facility's nursing department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern our facility, as may be directed by the Executive Director or Director of Nursing, to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is maintained at all times.

You

currently:
  • RN license must be in good standing.
  • Current CPR w/BLS
  • A minimum of two years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems and pharmacies.
Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the delivery of nursing services to include planning, implementing and evaluating the care plan of each resident to maximize resident quality of life and quality of care, with the integration of resident rights; oversee that residents' dignity and right to privacy are upheld.
  • Ensure adequate staff in number and ability to maintain the highest practicable level of physical, mental and psychosocial wellbeing for each resident that meets state and federal guidelines.
  • Maintain facility compliance with applicable federal, state and local standards and regulations and ensure resident and staff information is managed in accordance with regulations.
  • Develop and evaluate with the healthcare team and Executive Director resident care goals and policies to assure adequate resources and services are provided to residents; review logs and medical records on an ongoing basis to ensure the highest practicable care is delivered.
  • Manage department budget and ensure conformance with standards of quality care; keep the Executive Director updated on budget concerns.
  • Observe, mentor and train new and current staff including RNs, LPNs and CNAs to the facility's programs, policies and procedures and hold staff accountable for duties assigned.
